Fundraiser site Charitybuzz is currently running a charity auction for lunch with Tim Cook valued at $100,000. The lunch with the Apple CEO will take place at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, and accommodates two people. Lunch is covered, but paying for travel and stay is up to the winning bidder.
Also included in the package is two passes to a future Apple keynote event sometime between the end of the auction and May 5, 2017 so there’s a chance the lunch and event could happen at Apple’s in-progress Campus 2.
While the prize is valued at $100,000, the current highest bid is already at $110,000 and climbing with nine days left in the charity auction; bidding started late last week. Proceeds from the auction will support the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights group, where Cook recently joined the board.
Cook has raised funds for the RFK human rights campaign through Charitybuzz in previous years too: $200,000 in 2015, $330,001 in 2014, and $610,000 in 2013. Apple execs including Eddy Cue and others have similarly participated in fundraising campaigns over the years.
The auction runs through next Thursday, May 5th, 2016, at just after 3:30 pm ET. Bid for your chance to talk iPhone 7, encryption, or Auburn football over what I imagine is likely a pretty healthy meal.
